Does DVDMF 7 Support Datetime in subtitles

Post by wcj »

I currently have DVDMF 6+ and one of the main reasons I bought it was to have the datetime stamp in the subtitle. I am in the process of purchasing an HD camcorder and would like to know if this functionality is supported in DVDMF 7. I would like to import my HD videos (from an SDHC flash memory card), burn them to a Bluray and still have this feature. Is that possible?

Thanks for any help on this.

No sadly, DV is the only format that DVDMF or VS recognizes the date/time stamp. I know there is another product that does recognize the date/time stamp for AVCHD and HDV. If that's what you must have then have a look at this one.

It is surprising that they dropped this feature. They were the only big player in the market to offer this and anyone wanting this feature would buy their product. My wife loves the fact that we can see the date/time that any video clip was shot. It is great for documenting our kids growing up. Years later we will never remember the exact dates that the videos were shot.

How do people, like me, who want to preserve the date/time information for all the HD video they shoot accomplish this? Is there another way? Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help!

Simply do a title and put it somewhere near the start of the video. It could say something like "Filmed August 2010" or whatever the date might have been...
