ESPN-Like Transition Effects for X2?

Post by blplhp »

I remember asking the question 4 years ago about downloading any third party transition effects that give an "ESPN" like look to the transition. It was suggested that I download the "Burger" transitions "Spiral" and "Bloom", which I did. Now its 4 years later.......I've revisited the Burger site, and nothing has changed in 4 years. The same 21 transition effects are available for download. A note on the site says that "The transitions have been developed for and intensively tested with VideoStudio 6.0, 7.0 and 8.0, MediaStudio Pro 7.0 and GIF Animator 5.0, but should also work with VS 5.0, MSP 5.2 and 6.5.", again indicating the age of the site. Nothing is mentioned about compatibility with VS 9, 10, 11, X2 and X3. I know it works with VS10.

Do these transitions still work for X2? I assume they would.

Are there any other sites that offer "ESPN-like" sports transitions that are compatible with VideoStudio?

I know someone may suggest using Cool 3D to make my own transitions, but that is too much work. I'd rather download a free aor inexpensive transition clip already made.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Cheers,

Bryan P.

Yes, they still work with X2 and X3.

But to be honest, the only ESPN-style transitions I recall seeing on ESPN are straight cuts!

blplhp,

Can you be more specific as to what you want to do? I'm willing to help out, but I need more information (be specific)....it's like saying I want to do a movie transition! :)

Bryan,
Are you referring to a bumper or wipe, where an object like a baseball or basketball, flies at you or across the screen, then the scene changes behind it? If so you might check out Digital Juice, they have some real nice ones.

Thanks, Ron P., I'll check out Digital Juice.

To rguthrie, I guess I'm looking for a transition that simulates moving parts, something mechanical looking. But that probably sounds like what Cool 3D does. On another point, I noticed that you have Windows 7 and X2. Have you tried adding the "Advanced" button to the "Compression" tab inside the Make Movie Template Manager dialog box? I've posted a separate thread about this issue, but nobody with Windows 7 and X2 has responded yet. It seems to work on XP and Vista. Thanks.

Bryan
