Hi
And welcome to the forum
Can you give a little more detail as to what you are trying to make.
If it’s a standard DVD then the frame size is 720 x 576 for Pal format and 1024 x 576 for 16:9.
For HD its can be 1920 x 1280
An image twice this size would be sufficient and allow a little for zooming into the image whilst maintaining quality.
Video uses 4:3 or 16:9, your images are 3 x 2 ratio so some borders will be apparent.
There have been some quality issues when using Pan & Zoom but deselecting the Anti Flickering Filter from Preferences,
Project Preview
The preview screen unfortunately is not a good reflection of the completed rendered video quality.
I view my images and they look pretty good
Does your project contain video or just images, making a slide show?
If video give some details.
More information please, and what version of Video Studio are you using?

Re: Image quality
Hi
The version I am using is VS Pro 2 (12.0.98.1 Pro), I am making standard DVD PAL format. The file contains video tracks (from a DVD camera) , images and sound. The program also (annoyingly) drops out particularly when using sound tracks. The images distort - fuzzy and blurred edges etc
Hope this helps

Hi
So you are not just having image problems but video as well?
Do the images look ok prior to creating a video file?
1 / Can you tell us what are the properties of your video file ?
(right click a clip in the timeline and select properties—What are they?)
2 / What is the settings for your Project Properties (File Project properties)
3 / When you create the video file what options/template are you using.?
4 / Audio--There is / has been a problem using the latest Quick Time, you could try uninstalling and then installing an earlier version.
5 / Have you Manually Updated Direct X, there is a link at the top of this forum.
