hi !
i have two Protexis Licensing on my computer !
first might have come with corel psp x2 that i uninstalled but the service stills here! !!
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\PSIService.exe
second one came with psp x3 !
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Protexis\License Service\PsiService_2.exe
Both are auto running with windows in the services panel.
As i have already registered my serial number, can i stop them (run it only manual instead of automatic) in the service panel of windows ?

Simply if you want to run PSPP, no you can't. It must be running, if not you will get an error, and the program will not launch. Corel uses Protexis Licensing to protect against piracy. I too have 2-versions of Protexis Licensing running, however I also have PSPP X2, PSPP X3, VS X3, CorelDraw X4, to name a few that may be using this as well.

Re: can we stop the Protexis Licensing service ?
well,
i didn't wait and tried :
i put both in manual launch, and reboot my machine.
i click on psp shortcut and it runs perfeclty !
i checked task manager : none is running !
i checked services manager (services.msc) : they stay in manual mode and even not run!
i guess they only are used in case of activation, so no need to run them permantly !
have a good day

True, but they must be able to run, when needed. If you disable them then the programs will not launch..

Re: can we stop the Protexis Licensing service ?
Mine will only work if I use Auto.
Or, if I manually start the service.
The service must be "running" on my PC prior to opening PSP.

Re: can we stop the Protexis Licensing service ?
On my system, XP pro SP3 with only PSPP X3 installed:
Protexis licensing V2 needs to be started for PSPP X3 to open. I leave that on automatic.
Protexis Licensing is set to manual and never runs. As you suggest it may be a remnant from an earlier version of PSP, or maybe related to some other software package that also uses protexis licensing.

Re: can we stop the Protexis Licensing service ?
Has anyone tried the instructions given in this link, to disable Protexis completely, and still have PSP working?
