X3 Project timing doesn't match rendered video

Post by roandsteve »

Current version Videostudio x3 (started at v4)

I have a photo slideshow with 200 photos. Timed to end exactly with the music. Plays fine and syncs and ends perfectly in project play. Save and render to any video format. When I play the rendered video (tried all formats) in multiple players and multiple pc's the audio ends before the pictures. Either the pictures or the audio is getting off sync. I can't tell which. The only thing a little different is the last 60 photos have a time of 7 Frames Can videostudio handle that?
I have created 100's of these slideshows, I have 10 other video/photo projects going and none of them have this problem.
All software, OS, drivers up to date.

OK I solved it but I'm not sure what the problem is. I took the mp3 file that was in the audio track and converted it to a wav. Put the wav on a second track and started them at the same time. The mp3 finished 2 seconds sooner. I took the mp3 out and I used the wav instead and adjusted the photos to match the end. All rendered videos match the project mode playback as it should. I have used 100's of mp3's in the past so I think it is just a one time thing but I'm not an audio expert.

Thanks very much for the feedback - it is always useful to know that a problem has been solved and how.

There have been numerous cases in the past of mp3's causing problems - although as you have found they often work well, but not always - so in general it is suggested that if possible you use .wav files in a project in preference to mp3.

Hi RoandSteve

Just out of interest, what bit rate did the Mp3 audio use.
I found bit rates above 192 caused some problems, but like you I am no expert.
