I'm sure that I once read (and learned) that you can select an area of an image using the magic wand and then reverse the selection so that all the other part of the image is selected (hope I have made myself understood).
EG click on an area in an image, the area is selected (bounded by the dotted line). I then want to select all the remainder instead of the area selected.
How is this done. I have looked through my Paint Shop Pro X2 for Photographers manual and also a user guide for PSP8 but cannot find it.
Also some how I have lost the 'panel' where you can change the size of the tool (eg paint brush), it's shape etc. I can't find anywhere in the drop down menus where to turn this on again.

To invert a selection - Selections > Invert or press Ctrl + Shift + I.
The missing panel is the Tool Options palette. It can be toggled on and off by View > Palettes > Tool Options or by pressing the F4 key.
