Is there an easy way to figure out what files are used by an X2 project? I don't want to keep X2 and X3 on the box, so I want to uninstall X2, but I want to make sure I keep a copy of all the images and sound files that I used in my X2 projects so they are available when I convert the X2 project to X3. Any recommendations on how to do this?
Thanks,
Rich

Hi Rich
I assume you are referring to the sample files provided by X2.
The installation files for X2 are extracted and saved to your hard drive.
You should find them in the Corel folder within your C :Drive./Program files.
There is also, or should be an extra bonus content folder holding some samples.
As far as I know these folders are not removed when uninstalling X2
The installed program in Corel VideoStudio12 folder also has a sample folder. If you need this one then save it to a safe location as this folder structure will be removed on uninstall.
As your profile doesn’t show details of your PC and operating system I am unable to give an exact location, filling in your profile would help.[/size]
To be honest I would leave the program installed, it does no harm and will retain all the samples as well as menu templates.
X3 does not have a dedicated authoring program, Corel have provided DVD Movie Factory 7SE to burn discs.
X2 would give you another option using different templates.

Re: List files used by VS project
Yes, I am talking about the samples and bonus files and actually I've moved everything around on my disk for organizational purposes. I know where everything is, but I don't want to keep it all (space limitations). I only want to keep what I've used, so I was just wondering if there were an easy way to list the files used by a project so I know exactly what files I need to keep. I'm guessing that there's not. I probably have to open each project and look through them, but I was hoping not to have to do this tedious process.

Hi Rich
X2 can produce whats called a Smart Package very useful if you need to transfer a complete project to another pc.
This creates copies of the projects content and saves them to a single folder.
I believe Smart Package is under the File menu.

Great! I'll try that when I get home.
