Problem making AVCHD DVD from edited Sony AVCHD files

Post by haaske »

Describe your problem:
I have video I had originally downloaded and made a basic AVCHD disk with just to see how it would look. That burning went fine and plans as an AVCHD disk in Blu-Ray players. I decided to add some titles, transitions and effects and now whenever I try to create an AVCHD disk using DVD Factory Pro 2010 it crashes after 2.5hours into the conversion process. The only clue to the problem is a message in the Event Viewer that the BuringApp.exe had an unhandled exception.

Note some things I have tried:
1. I can render the project out to a file. I created a 1080i-60fps MPEG. The 49 minute video ended up as 9GB. Not sure if that is MP4/H.264.
2. I have tried this about 7-8 times each time failing during the convert process. I have tried different options for the DVD menu, but to no avail.
3. I finally tried to uninstall and reinstall the app. I thought I had VS X3 SP1 and I have have before the reinstall, but when I check the version numbers on the files it shows 13.0.0.0 and 1.0.0.50 for the BurningApp.

What am I doing wrong? I believe I had SP1 so I should have the latest code. Is there some log file somewhere. Thanks for your time.

Properties of your source files, including video, audio, image files (format, file size, where did you get it?):
AVCHD files, H.264 (M2TS format on disk)recorded on Sony HDR-CX550V. Files should be 1080i at the most.

What devices are involved and their mode of connection?:
Files are downloaded by Sony PMB software.

Project Properties (important):
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Lower Field First
(DVD-NTSC), 16:9
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8000 kbps)
LPCM Audio, 48000 Hz, Stereo

Output format (file, DVD, VCD, SVCD):
Using the Create Disc to startup DVD Factor Pro 2010. Asking it to create an AVCHD disk. Shows it will take up 5.8GB on a 8.5GB DL DVD+R.

Output Properties (cogwheel in lower left of burn screen):

PAL or NTSC:
NTSC

Error Codes (if any):
No error codes. The burning process runs for about 2.5 hours and then a message pops up that say "Burning Failed." Neither VS X3 nor DVDFactoryPro 2010 crash the app continues like nothing happened.
Product Version: e.g. VS10, VS11+, VS X3 Pro, DVD MovieFactory, DVD Factory 2010, ect..

Hi

Using X3 render your project to a new video file.
Share Create Video File-Avchd, or Same as first video if that option is available.

Use the resultant HD file in DVD Movie Factory 7SE

This program has been supplied by Corel as a replacement to DVD Factory Pro 2010.

Thanks, I can give that a try. I was able to render the file to an AVCHD 1440 file today. I had DVD Movie Factory 7 SE installed before, but I uninstalled it when I did the reinstall. I will give that a try once I enter my registration code again.

Well, I deinstalled VSX3 & DVD Movie Factory 7SE and reinstalled VSX3. Now I can not get Movie Factory 7SE back. I stared an online chat with install support, but they could not help. It seems that it was part of SP1. When I reinstalled I put the SP1 on, but I did not get an option to reinstall 7SE again.

Any ideas how to get the back again?

Hi

I've just noticed a link to MF7 download towards the bottom of this post, maybe it will help?
