Using V7 of ULead, when I try to burn a DVD, after the video renders itself, I get the message:
"The disk is not empty or there is no disk in the drive."
I'm using a new/blank DVD +R disk as well as I had DELL technicians come in a replace my DVD +/- RW drive.
They tell me it's the software.
Any idea?

Are you even able to use the burner to burn anything else from other programs? Try using Windows and see if that can just burn a data CD.
What letter are your drives? Sometimes I've heard of a tendancy for Ulead prgrams only to recognize the primary optic drive. ie, whichever one of the drives comes first alphabetically. It's usually a bad build by the manufacturer, putting the writer on the secondary port on the IDE cable. May require that you go inside the PC and reconnect the two drives by swapping the data cable plugins. It's a really dumb thing to do, making the DVD writer the secondary drive after a ROM.

Thanks for all the suggestions!
I haven't downloaded any patches, but will do so. Also, I will try disabling other programs that my cause conflicts.
Also, yes, I am able to burn a CD-RW, using that drive when I drag/drop files. I also can burn a CD-RW disk and place a ULead vido on it, choosing SVCD.
I can't burn a DVD+R (Using ULead) and I'm very confused by this!!
Unrelated questions:
1. Can I render a VSP project so that it's sitting on disk and all I have do do is drag/drop and burn the disk (without using ULead) to burn the disk?
2. What does Create disk image do? It creates a file ...svcd.ixa?
3. How about Create DVD folders?
P.S. Could it be V7 of Ulead. Maybe I should spend the $50.00 and upgrade?

That's probably your problem right there -- DLA (Drive Letter Access) software tends to take control of the blank media as soon as you put it in the drive, and when UVS tries to access the drive, it can't.nancyd wrote:Also, yes, I am able to burn a CD-RW, using that drive when I drag/drop files. Roxio's Drag-To-Disk can be shut down temporarily by right-clicking on it's icon in the System Tray and selecting "Exit". Nero InCD reportedly doesn't have such a feature, and I'm not sure about other similar programs. In extreme cases, you may have to uninstall the program to get UVS to work.
If you don't want to uninstall anything, you could ask UVS to create an ISO file instead, and burn that using the burning software you own.
