creating disc

Post by nickdellarocco »

I know VS9 extensively. I go through crerate disc steps in X3, design chapters and menues, I insert a new DVD-R. I'm ready to burn right? disc type: insert "blank disc" Program sees no space avaliable, thus says say 1.4G over. If I try to play with it too much it becomes non responsive and DVD Factory closes. Frustrating. This learning curve from VS9 to X3 is not fun and truely I see a few changes from VS9 I need less more overlay tracks. That is nice Answers please? :|

Hi

Can you confirm you are doing this?

1 / From X3 after completing your project you create a new video file
Share Create Video File – DVD-choose the appropriate option.

To burn a DVD……
2 / Opening DVD Movie Factory 7SE will close X3. Do not use DVD Factory 2010.
3 / from DVD MF7 select the DVD option
3 / In the second window Add Video file, using the video created in 1 above.

I was looking, but when selecting create disc it automatically opens DVD Factory. I see no option for Movie Factory. I do remember a pop-up asking me to install Movie Factory. This Popup came first as I was trying to open up my VS projects. I ignored it, thinking it was gunna ask my to purchase Factory on top of X3. After some solution hunting I think Movie was a better choice. It was a free add-on yes? I bypassed it thinking that X3 would create as VS9 did. What should I do know? Can you tell me how to install this program option?

Also when I was using VS9 heavily, it came with Ulead Cool 3D. I enjoyed using it and appreciated the creations I could do with my VS9 projects. I had to upgrade to 64 bit windows 7 (mistake I think); thus Cool 3D upon install is incompatible. What can I do about this loss?

Thank you sir

Hi Nick

First look into your start menu Corel Video Studio X3 folder to see if DVD Movie Factory7SE is listed.
If not…….
From X3 select the icon top right, looks similar to a clock with a down arrow.
This opens a new window Corel Guide.
Again select the cogwheel icon top right and select Check for Updates.

Hopefully DVD Movie Factory 7 SE will be available.

Cool 3D, unfortunately this program is not compatible with W7, nor Vista. I believe the software has been discontinued, it was a very useful tool, a shame it no longer works.

Ok, I've gone through your instructions. Yes checking for updates shows message moviefactory 7 se is a "free update this patch installs.............enjoy....free from Corel. There is only a close button here no install. So I went to corel.com searched for moviefactory and found dmf7_3in1_patch.exe (58.0 MB) and patch 2. I ran then, but of course no program found. So, I got to the buy now and trial install, but I put this off due to wanting to get it right. Should I install the movie trial? Perhaps I need to find the free add-on elsewhere. I know I'm close My next step?

Hi

Are you saying you are using the Trial Version of X3

If yes then

DVD Movie Factory 7SE is provided with the full version of X3.

It CANNOT be installed with the trial version.

Hi

There is a forum dedicated to Movie Factory 7, maybe worth a read, a link at the top of this forum.

One of the posts indicate that the download link for MF7 is within the Get More button.
The post is here:-

It may be worth while to uninstall and reinstall the program, maybe that will reset the download option?

Thank you, I called Corel directly and they helped me. Now I just gotta figure out how to import , or add my video studio projects to moviefactory 7 SE. I have a project in VS then create disc then choose moviefactory over factorypro...studio closes Moviefactory opens. but seems not to be linked with VS. I'm looking to add existing project, but no saved video studio projects are an option. I'm hunting around for an answer as I'm sure it is easy to fix. Just trying to load my existing VS projects into moviefactory like it does in DVD Factory Pro. Perhaps you can point me in the right direction

MF 7se will not accept VS projects (VSPs). From VS, you must first create a video file (Share>Create Video File), then import that into MF for burning.

Replies were so helpful. The issue seemed to have been I was share..create disc instead of create video file. I'm so used to VS9 and "create disc" Moviefactory is similar to VS9's menu create. I'm sure it has more bells and whistles. Thanks

Now one issue I had with VS9 still seems to be there in moviefactory. I'd love to be able to extend the motionview audio in the menu to more than 30 seconds. Better yet is there a way to do the audio menu by croping out say the chourus to a song instead of playing the first 1-30 seconds of it's beginning?

So, Is there a way to increase the 30 seconds? I got a bad feeling the latter cropping must be done in 3rd party software. I've tried to take a crop I did in in VS editor and saved it to the library. I don't think it is usable as a stand-alone clip to be used in Mfactory.

I hope you are with me?

As far as I am aware, the 30 seconds is hard and fixed -- no extension possible... (Mind you, 30 seconds is a long time. How long does it take to select what you want to play???)

And the only cropping of which I am aware has to be done by third party audio editor...

Hi

If you deselected the Motion Menu, your sound files would play continuously.

Trim music in menu.

After adding your music file select the small square icon to the top right, this opens an Advanced Audio Dialogue Window.
Trim your clip using the square brackets/mark-in mark-out.

I have not used this cropping option so cannot confirm the results in the final DVD.

To edit create a new sound file simply add the original to VS timeline, also add a colour clip/image to the top timeline.
Edit the sound clip.
Drag it to the beginning of the timeline.
Share Create Sound File
