I have VS express 2010 and when I go to the "Create" tab on the action bar and select "Movie", it loads for a second then it stops working and Windows closes the program. It also doesn't allow me to use the "QuickCut Timeline". I'm operating with Vista Home Premium 64. I have tried installing it twice and I have all applicable updates and patches.
It seems like a simple enough program to operate, so I have no idea what is causing this problem.

Re: VS express crashes while launching movie function
Welcome to the forums,
What type of video file(s) are you working with, DV, MOV, MPEG? Are they SD (standard definition) or HD (High-definition)?
You've applied all updates/patches for VS Express, however have you installed the latest DirectX update? You can download it from Microsoft's Download Center. Be sure to create a folder to extract the contents into, as it will extract numerous (157) files, most of which are *.cab files. Look for the file called DXSETUP.exe to install. Once you have installed it, just delete the folder you created and extracted the files into.
