I have installed a trial version of ProX3 on my Dell i3, Windows 7 Laptop.
ProX3 edits the native AVCHD lite video files taken on my Lumix TZ7. The editing process is very stable and the results are extremely good.
Prior to downlopading ProX3 onto the Dell, I could also edit the AVCHD lite files in Windows Live Movie Maker (Windows7).
Since downloading the trial version of ProX3, Windows Live Movie Maker shows the AVCHD files in corrupted format ie only the top half of the video is shown, video playback is jagged and playback locks up after about 5 seconds. Pro X3 continues to work perfectly.
Has anyone else experienced this and is the Windows Live MM problem due to a codec mismatch with ProX3.
Thanks

Re: ProX3 compatibility with Windows Live Movie Maker
scotview,
I had the same issue with earlier versions of VS and Windows Movie Maker. It started with some of Corel's recent versions (and yes, there seems to be a war between the codecs). It's an inconvenience, but you'll find that aside from perhaps a few different transitions that MM has that VS doesn't, VS is much more powerful, and you won't be missing MM. And VS has loads of transitions and effects to keep your creative juices flowing.
Hope this helps!

Re: ProX3 compatibility with Windows Live Movie Maker
Thanks for the feedback Ronald.
I've solved my problem.
I found the link below which showed my exact problem.
http://social.answers.microsoft.com/for ... 5F39E43CB7
I downloaded the Klite codec pack (at my own risk) and windows Live Moviemaker now edits my AVCHD lite footage. ProX3 is still functioning perfectly with native AVCHD lite files..........great !!
I will purchase ProX3 to upgrade my ProX2 version.
The main difference between ProX3 and WLMM is when merging old 4:3 AVI and new 16:9 AVCHD lite clips. Prox3 allows you to resize the 4:3 format whereas WLMM cannot resize the old 4:3 video.
I will probably still use WLMM for editing small videos for uploading to Vimeo.
