Pro x3 AVI file downloads
I have a July 2010 new version of Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 and have downloaded the patchTSK-2644. When I try to load files from a Samsung mini camcorder in .avi file format, I get the error message with a Nero headline "This page requires the file advrcntr2.dll which was not found on this system". Evidently Pro X3 cannot convert or load .avi files. Does anyone have a suggestion? I have removed all of the Nero software via the "Control Panel" and have removed all Nero files from the registry, with the same error message popping up.

Re: Pro x3 AVI file downloads
Welcome to the forums!
Video Studio can and does accept and convert a wide variety of .avi files. The problem is that there are literally over 800 varieties of video which use the .avi extension, yet they can be widely different. The situation is not helped when camera manufacturers develop their own variant on a theme, stick an .avi extension on it and expect software manufacturers to automatically adjust their software for their codec.
First of all, since you are getting a message that a .dll file is missing, it is highly likely that the relevant file is the Samsung .avi codec file. Did the camcorder come with a CD with files on it and did you install it? That would normally install the relevant codec.
It would also help if you could tell us the exact model number of your camcorder. Then someone may be able to work out exactly what type of video is in your .avi files.

Hi Bill
Your camera as far as I can see records to Mpeg-4 to memory stick
How are you trying to get the video from the camera to Video Studio?
You should be able to copy and paste, or drag and drop the files from the camera to your PC.
You should be able to see the camera as a removable drive from “Computer”
If not use the software that came with the camera to import the files to the PC.
Then insert the files to Video Studio (right click the timeline and select insert Video)

Re: Pro x3 AVI file downloads
I loaded the Samsung software that came with the camcorder (very old) and now the files in PRO x3 load fine except that there seems to be a lot of static. So, problem solved, I can tolerate the static since the video is really good.
Thanks to all.
Thanks to all.
