Hi there,
A couple of days ago I got a box appear on my computer screen (I don't know how - I think I had been out of the room) which suggested updating my NVIDIA driver(s).
I think it had the NVIDIA website address at the bottom of the box. Anyway, I went to the NVIDIA website and looked for updates for
my GTX 260 video card. It came up with GEFORCE/ION DRIVER RELEASE 256 Version : 258.96 WHQL. Release Date : 210.07.19.
So I downloaded it.
The next thing I know is that about a day later that PSP Pro x3 and Photo Project Creator will not open. Accompanying both is a different box saying that
there are incompatible versions of NVIDIA drivers which have been detected. One of the boxes says to update my driver (or hardware)
to a version that supports DirectX 7.0 or higher.
So I went to the NVIDIA site to find out what rubbish I had downloaded in 258.96 WHQL (above) but they seem to have no way to communicate with them.
How beautifully helpful I thought. How considerate of them.
So, here I am asking for some assistance to sort out this mess please.
Thanks,
Phil.

System restore ! To before the install of the new drivers Or Device manager, Display adaptor, you GFX card, drivers, roll back
Nvida have a history of producing new drivers that don't work with PSP and taking 3 or 4 attempts to get it right.

Also if you go into Start > Control Panel > Device Manager you can right click on your video card and roll back the driver to a previous version.Trev Bowden wrote:System restore ! To before the install of the new drivers Or Device manager, Display adaptor, you GFX card, drivers, roll back

On my system it is LeftDoubleClick on the video card then select the Driver Tab .. then select Roll Back Driver.

A good source for NVidia and other types of cards including cleanout utilities, beta, and full releases of previous versions is:
guru3d.com
Check out their download catagories. You could also search their forum for issues. It is a gamer's site, primarily, but then gamers really stress their hardware.

Re: New NVIDIA driver stops PSP Pro x3 opening
Thanks guys for the suggestions - the System Restore worked ok and I can open the software again!
However, it did send a message saying System Restore was not fully completed etc etc but everything worked ok so I left it at that.
Not very happy with NVIDIA though
