Evaluating Paintshop Pro

Post by mrskrabitz »

and am trying to figure out how to shape the text in this program. I have tried the shift drag handle suggestion and nothing happens... I know this is the trial period and perhaps all features aren't available, but can anyone point me to a tutorial or something that might help. I am really interested in purchasing the full license... but want to make sure it does all the things I need it to do.

Thank you in advance for any advice and suggestions!

First, the trial is a fully functional version.

Sadly most of the tutorials on warping text involve converting them to raster first. Which I just do not understand, regular deformation is possible with the text tool.

But holding Shift and dragging the corners of the text box should work. Are you using the pick tool or the text tool when you attempt the deformation?

The text tool will allow the hold and drag options. With the pick tool, for whatever reason, you have to Hold shift and click on the corner once. It then enters shear mode. If you Hold Ctrl and click on the corner once it enters into perspective mode.

Hold down shift and grab a node in the centre of a side and you can skew the text, Ctrl and a corner node will give Perspective distortion. Hold both down and you get Free form. If you have grabbed the node you will see the cursor change to show the effect that you will get.
Now you say your trying to shape the text Maybe you want it curved or like the Cinema scope. These are a little more involved but If thats what you are after Let us know for more detail
