need help exporting back to camera in VS pro x2

Post by zack lee »

Hi, it’s my first post and I tried to find my answer by searching but I couldn’t find specifically what I needed. What I’m trying to do is export my movie back to my Sony handycam (memory stick) in a format that the camera can then play it back. I saw that it can be done with a DV but I couldn’t figure how to do it (or if it’s even possible) on a memory stick cam. I love the Corel products; I just haven’t wrapped an understanding around this one yet. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Welcome to the forums, :)

Sadly the Export to Camcorder is meant only for DV via Firewire. For putting your video back onto a memory stick, I would guess that you need only to copy it from your PC to the memory stick. However I would also suspect that your camcorder would use a high-compression codec such as AVCHD or AVCHD lite to record video to the memory stick. In that case it may not be as simple as copy/pasting, the camcorder may need a specific file structure to recognize and play the video files.

Could you provide some information on what file format your camcorder records to?

You are right. I had found a way to transfer a file and it showed in the memory but the Camera did not recognize it. I have shifted my focus now to getting an old DV camera of mine working again for this purpose. I appreciate the help and I am sure I will be back often as I am not nearly as familiar with VS as I am PSP.

Thanks again ZL
