Import digital media.
Hi, can anyone help, I have downloaded the free trial of Videostudio Pro X3 with a view to buying after using version 11. I am trying to import digital media from a DVD to edit, but it keeps saying no files are recognised, even though there is nothing wrong with the DVD. It is DVD-R format and is not copyright protected, the program seems to work OK apart from this ???? I had a similar problem with different footage taken with my DVD camcorder so I thionk the files are ok. I have checked the help files to ensure I am doing it correctly. I am a seasoned amateur video editor so am familiar with software like this, it is as though something is disabled, but this trial software is time limited and not limited function. Using Windows 7 on Sony Vaio, Core i5, 4GB, ATI Radeon HD5650, 500 GB HDD. Cheers, Graham.

Re: Import digital media.
Welcome to the forums,
Is your DVD-VR disc finalized? Some of them need to be, before VS will see them. You can also try copying the disc to your HDD, then try importing them into VS.

Thanks Ron, the disc is finalised but I will try copying it to my HDD, is it normal to have to do this ?

Re: Import digital media.
I haven't got VS on this machine, but don't you have to choose import from dvd, to import from a dvd, whereas import digital media is more from sd cards, hdd's etc?

Re: Import digital media.
With VS X3 they use the Insert Digital Media command for importing video from DVDs or DVD Folders.
