I've been trying to add music files to my home video using VideoStudio Express 2010, but it's not working & I need some help.
The music files have been imported into VideoStudio (and are viewable under the "music" button). However when I get into "edit movie" and click on "add soundtrack", the only music file that is visible is a sample one (that is labelled "music_03.mpg"). I can add the sample music track to my video, but none of my personal mp3 music.
When I click on the button "browse my computer" (under the "soundtrack" tab) to add more music, it doesn't work - it won't let me browse my computer/documents folders at all.
I've searched my computer for the sample track (the only music track that DOES work) - "music_03.mpg" - and I found it in two locations (programfiles/corel/corel videostudio/content/audio & programfiles/corel/corelvideostudio/editingstyle/audio). I've added my personal music files into both places, but I am still unable to add them to my home video. When I click on "add soundtrack" I still can only see the sample music track.
I think the problem is that my personal music files are in "Mp3" format (audio files), whereas the sample music track is in "MPEG" format (video format). I think I will need to convert my Mp3 files into MPEG video files, but I can't find a program online that allows me to do that.
Any help or advice would be fantastic! Thank you.

Re: Problem adding music to VideoStudio Express 2010
MP3s are actually an audio-specific format that was designed as part of the MPEG-1 standard and later extended in MPEG-2 standard. MP3 files should work, although some people have problems with those made with the LAME codec. I use MP3s created by iTunes and have no problems with them.
If you can, try converting them to WAV files. WAV files are the standard when it comes to audio files. If they don't work then you have some other problem.
