Is there an easy way to split a project into smaller units

I have the Pro X2 version and want to break a long project (27 minutes) into three parts. Is there an easy way to split the timeline without having to re-edit?

Not if the break points have continuing background music or voiceovers behind them.

Otherwise, just make your two cuts, and save the whole thing with a specific name (P1...). Then delete the second two clips (or all that follows the first new cut) and save that first bit with another new project name. Then reopen the first new project file P1), delete the first part and the third part, and save again with a new name. Do the same again but this time delete the first and second parts, and save the third part as a separate file.
