Hello,
Hopefully this will be quick. I searched the forum but didn't find the answer I needed nor did I see it in my manual. I currently have no problems, bugs or errors with this program (V 12) and I've used it many times.
However, I was outputting a file to "HDV 720p - 30p for PC" and my final file size is 2 GB. I never thought to deinterlace before as this is the longest video I've made to date and I need to bring it down in size for the web without losing quality.
1. Can I deinterlace my project within the progam? Is there a function/feature within x12 that does this? Where is it located if so?
2. Is there a better way to save it so I don't get 'pixelated lines' when my hands are moving or there's motion? Or am I forced to go back and deinterlace every single video clip before hand first?
Hopefully someone here knows better than me on this. Many thanks in advance.

Re: Deinterlacing question ...
You can "de-interlace" by choosing Frame-Based (as opposed to Upper or Lower Field First) at the Share step. Don't know that it will solve your problems, though.

larger file size = better quality, each time you make it smaller you are going to lose quality.

What were your project files? If they were 720p then that is progressive and not interlaced and therefore won't need de-interlacing.

Easier to advise once we know what youa re starting with.

Hi Steffan
To reduce the file size you need to reduce the Bit Rate.......
You may be best to choose the WMV HD 702p but
And as Graham says, knowing your original video properties would help in advising you what settings to use.
So what are the properties of the original video?
Changing the interlacing options will not reduce the file size.I need to bring it down in size for the web without losing quality. Not possible, reducing the file size will reduce quality, whether it is noticeable is another matter
