VS8 keeps switching from PAL to SECAM??

Hi everyone

I am using ADS TEch DVD Xpress Capture Device to try and convert old VHS cassettes to DVD using VS8. It is connected to the VCR by 2 audio leads and a composite video lead (RCA Connectors).

When I play anything via the VCR to my PC via the capture device, VS8 immediately switches from the PAL setting I have chosen to SECAM. My VCR is PAL. The cassettes I'm playing are PAL.

If I go back and change it back to PAL, as soon as I play anything through the VCR (cassettes of just TV Signal) it once again goes back to SECAM.

Any advice for this would be great as it is sending me up the bloomin' wall!

Why worry about it , PAL and SECAM are identical enough to be fully interchangeable.

When it switches to SECAM, the image then becomes disorted and unwatchable. The image becomes blue and distorted. It cannot be captured as it is simply unwatchable.

Any more ideas anyone??

When I play anything via the VCR to my PC via the capture device, UVS8 immediately switches from the PAL setting I have chosen to SECAM. My VCR is PAL. The cassettes I'm playing are PAL.

I thik it is a bug in UVS products because during the first istallation, i choiced "France" as country and "SECAM" was selected by default, after that i tryed "PAL/SECAM" as standards whith out succes, the "SECAM" standard was selected by default. I tryed again "Australie" as a country and i optained a "PAL" standard.

Did some one have a solution for this ?
