Can Update be applied to Trial version

Post by JoReneA »

I am having so much trouble withthe trial version of Digital Sudio 2010 that I tried to install the update. It says the program is not on my computer and it will not install, which is not the case. The program is clearly on my computer. Is this by design:? I can't figure out why a company would not want to allow someone to experience the best version of it's software by denying the chance to use the updated version. As it stands, there is no way I would purchase this, as it crashes continually and works very slowly. It looks like it may have potential, but there is no way to find this out.

If the update should install, has anyone found out how to do this?

Thanks!

I'm not aware of any software manufacturer -- including Corel -- which allows patches or updates to be applied to trial versions... Don't ask me why, but that's the situation.

In any case, many of us here would simply say to you "BEWARE!!! Don't go there". I have this package as a stand-alone version, as well as the version which came as part of Video Studio X3, and I would have to say it is a very ill-considered piece of software. You would be much better off looking at other packages.

Thank you for your information. I have already uninstalled the Trial version. Actually, I have had a trial that allowed the update to be applied. I believe it was Adobe Premiere Elements, but it could have been another trial version. It certainly makes no sense to have a buggy trial version which will just turn away potential customers.

Unfortunately it was not just the trial version I was warning you against, but the full version as well. A very poorly executed concept IMHO.
