How can I establish a background or picture in the 16:9 format
Even when I enlarge the picture it is shown and filling the whole window. By executing Finish it is shown in a 4:3 format.
For AVI is everything OK.
Regards
16:9 format

thanks for your respons.
I do not know the PGCEdit, is there an alternative?
I was thinking to prepare a movie , with the wnated images, then read it in as an AVI file, and then add a cirrent frame to the library and use it as such.
Do you think that is a solution or is there an easier one (the unknown PGCEdit)

thanks for the tips but I'm lost.
I have tried to work with PGCedit and Ifoedit.
I have not the experience to work with the specific DVD files.
I have tried several other authoring programmes and on each of them is something missing (no 16:9, no DVD9, no menu-editing, or a bad quality result when i used the authoring facility of the editor, etc..)
Conclusion: what now...? any suggestions or ideas of a really GOOD and complete authoring program?
thanks

Burn the DVD Folders to your hard drive in a folder -- say you named a folder DVD_FOLDER -- in it will be a VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folder (after you burn your dvd)
To change the menu to 16:9
In IFOEdit:
1) use OPEN (bottom left corner), then browse to the DVD_FOLDER. Open up the file named VTS_01_0.IFO
2) a split screen appears -- look at the bottom half, there is a MENU Attributes, and you should see (4:3) about half way along the line. Double click that (4:3), select Aspect Ratio of 16:9, and click ok
3) hit SAVE (bottom left) -- and just save it to the same folder.
Let us know if that works...

OK, it's working, thank you very much George.
Although, since I did the test with 2 movies , one 16:9 and another 4:3, the 4:3 was also converted to the 16:9 format, although I thougt that it only the menu should be corrected.
Another question: The planned movie is 100 minutes. Although it could be put on 1 DVD, I intend to put it on a DL DVD in order to obtain a better quality. Is that a correct thinking and do I have something into account, or will everything go automatically (that DLT is not very clear to me)'
Again, thank you very much for the 4:3 mrenu problem.

100-minutes can be done with great quality on a DVD5 disc, but you could get better quality moving to a DL disc.
Look in the MovieFactory Forum for a thread titled "How to burn a 100-minute .mpg file?" It's got some info on what type of settings to make, and some links to other info...
The 16:9 thing -- did you change more than one 4:3 to 16:9 in IFOEdit?

I get perfect 16:9 aspect in the movie by creating a new preset in the disc template manager then using the advanced button under compression tab is possible change the aspec ratio to 16:9 in video settings (2:21:1 ratio is present too), the final disc created will be 16:9, that´s the only way i found to create the 16:9 movies.
Advanced button:
goes to DVDWS.ini file found in my case at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Datos de programa\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD Workshop\2.0
edit the Viodriver section as follow:
[VIODRIVER]
UleadVideoPlay=1
UleadVideoDecoder=1
UleadAudioPlay=1
UleadAudioDecoder=1
UseOnlineMuxing=1
MotionEstimate=20
PlayAC3=1
DecodeAC3=1
UleadAC3Encode=1
Advance=1
the last line was added manually, save the changes open the program and check the disck template manager >>edit...>>compression tab>>advanced button appears near the quality options slider good luck to everybody.
PD. Sorry for my english. I´m from a spanish enviroment
