Audio Fader problem

Post by Cookie »

Hi,
I hope someone can point me in the right direction.
Here's what I'm trying to do. It's a small movie, showing clips of my family, three minutes in length. There are a section where the kids are saying some funny things, which I want to be able to hear. The rest I want only to hear the music track. I've inserted a music track into the music track which I've split, just where the kids start talking. I've tried to fade out the music & when the kids finish talking I want the background music to increase in volume again. I've put a fade out in when the kids start singing & decreased the volume from 400 to 60. Then after the kids finish singing I have inserted a fade in & increased the volume back to 400. I've increased the length of the fade through preferences, I've tried to manually insert fades (had to give up as I didn't really grasp how to do that). But the problem I have is that the fade out is abrupt & doesn't seem to fade at all, this also happens at the end of the clip.
The same thing happens when I want to fade in the increased volume. It doesn't start at the same level & is again abrupt & doesn't seem to fade in.
I've spent hours trying figure this out & searched the board before posting. Any help would be greatly apprecitaed.
I'm using Corel X3.

Regards.

Hi

Set the default Audio fade duration from Preferences (F6)-edit tab
The default is 1 second a little short if you need to hear the fades.
Try 3 or 4 seconds

Cut the video file using the scissors, before and after the kids talking.
You can also cut the Music track in the same manner.

From Edit mode use the Fade in Out ramps adjacent to the Digital clock and volume levels
