Marking Thumbnails as Used
Hi, I'm somewhat new to VideoStudio Pro but have some experience with Interwin DVD Creator. After searching the forums, I don't believe I've found an answer to my question. When you insert a photo into a project timeline, how do you mark the thumbnail as "used" so you don't duplicate it later? I did find a reference to a work around that involved renaming each thumbnail as it gets inserted, but that gets pretty tedious for 300+ photos. I'm using VideoStudio Pro X3 on an HP G71 laptop running Windows 7. This feature was in InterWin DVD creator V3 which created a small yellow icon in the corner of each thumbnail as it was inserted into the timeline so I'm surprised it doesn't seem to be available in VS. How do you folks keep track of what you've used? We just downloaded VS so it's a current build.

Welcome to the forums,
That's one feature that has been asked for several versions back, however Corel has yet to add it. It would make things much easier when you add numerous photos to a project.

Ron, thanks. If the feature isn't available, any suggestions regarding how to track what you put into the timeline? We're toying with creating a few subject area libraries and just dumping all the photos in. Basically, we'd manage by subtraction and remove what we don't want.

As you have found, the only way to do it is to rename the clip. I simply put an X in the name. Of course, you could also delete the clip from the library. As long as you right click and choose Delete, and do not do Shift+Delete, only the thumbnail will be deleted and the original file will remain on your computer. Shift+Delete will remove it all together.
