In other words you can't actually change it, but you can turn it off. Then it'll simply use the default program colors. Don't know if that's more pleasing though.

ahhhhhh.... just what i needed. thanks marty. that did the trick. my old eyes simply cannot abide the "Graphite Workspace Theme". things are much brighter without it. still wish i could get my hands on how they did that. buried in some of their obscure .css files?

Its a XML file and Jean Luc has posted a reg fix that will use a replacement XML file where you can edit the colour and so set it to whatever you want
