The second X3 patch has been released

Post by Tim Morrison »

A second patch for PSPP X3 has been released. It might take a few days until it appears for everyone. The new version number is 13.2.0.35.

I've done a few checks but I can only find one bug that has been fixed. That was was the bug that automatically over-brightened dark raw files (see http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 15#p195146 or news://cnews.corel.com/4b80cf01_1@cnews). This bug made it impossible to do anything with very dark raw files, occurred everywhere in X3 and as a consequence made the HDR Photo Merge tool unusable.

The bugs I've tried that haven't been fixed -
  • Going from the full editor to either the Express Lab or Print Layout, then returning to the full editor, causes the tabs of any rolled up palettes to be duplicated.
  • Any script that uses Tkinter will crash. (Tkinter is used to draw dialog boxes in scripts).
  • Some icons, such as the black Free Rotate icon or the Text Tool's "Remember Text" icon are extremely hard to see.
  • Some vector text will not print. It shows up OK on screen, but won't print.
  • The normal way for all images to open in all previous versions PSP has always been in a window. If that option isn't changed, all images open in a window, no matter how they are opened. In PSPP X3 the image is shown in a window if PSP is already open, but maximised if PSP is not open. For instance, if X3 is closed and you open an image using Open With, The image will open maximised. If you run X3 first, then open an image using Open With, that image opens in the Windowed view. Another example is if you send an image to X3 from another application such as an external image viewer like FastStone Image Viewer. It will open in a windowed view if X3 is already opened, and in maximised view if X3 is closed.

You didn't see my post did you? :D

I only noticed two things that no longer effect my computer, don't know that they are "fixed" but I haven't had any problems since the update.

1) Text tool no longer freezes the program if foreground or background is set to transparent.

2) Guide doesn't freeze the program if I hold it too long after initialization.

I went searching through my messages (as I only found out about the update after I closed the program) and it says that it fixes some more program stability, improves RAW support and increases the number of RAW formats supported. And improves some of the Organizer Workflow. Whatever that means. No specific list as far as I could tell about what has or has not been fixed.

It's also been reported that the Organizer is working faster in one case. And that the preview DLL for Windows Explorer now properly renders .pspimage files again.
