Many problems with VideoStudioPro X3

Post by nimo »

Hello everyone,
I have been using CorelVideoStudion sine the release Ulead 3.0, and I was very happy with it. I kept buy the new versions as they come out, and keep using them for my home videos. After upgrading to Windows 7, I had to upgrade from VideoStudio 10 to ProX3. This is the bgining of all my problems. I contacted Corel several time, but teh problems are still there:

1. After completing the project, and attempt to create a movie folder, the application crashes. The lates crash message is:
BurningApp.exx
CorelAudioToolbox.dll
It`s been 3 month, and I am not able to create a single movie folder from my family activities.

2. When I add titles in a project and give them the proper name, they do not come correct when I burn. They actuall come as Chapter1, etc. Also, when I add them in Corel DVD Factory 2010 and save them, I still loose all these information when the application crashes.

3. Corel removed one of the best features that I enjoyed using, which is to create an ISO image of a movie. Will this ever come back?

Could someone help please. Thanks.

Hi

The authoring program Corel DVD Factory 2010 is not good.

Corel have provided DVD Movie Factory 7SE as a replacement.

Select the small circular icon ‘top right’ for Help and Product Information, another window will open, choose a similar icon and select ‘Check for Updates’
You should be able to download and install Movie Factory.

If not choose the Get More tab to see whats available.

Please read the Sticky Posts at the top of this forum for more X3 info

Thanks Trevor andrew. How do I set MonvieFactory 7SE as the authoring program? When I click on "Create Disc" in VideoStudio, it opens "DVD Factory 2010" by default.

Thanks.

Once Movie Factory 7 SE is installed, when you click on Share > Create Disc, you will have a choice between DVD Factory 2010 and MF 7 SE...

I think I am doing something wrong. I found the different versions. Here's how I create a DVD:
1. Open Corel VideoStudio
2. Import all video clips
3. Edit, and add transitions
4. Share and create Disc

When I share, if I select 7SE, it opens a new project and does not get all the work tht I did. If I choose 2010, it bring all my project setup and prompts me to continue. Where did I do wrong? Thanks.

By the way, I checked corel manual and it does not have clear details about creating movie folders.

Movie Factory 7 will not recognise Video Studio X3 projects -- and that is what you are doing. You are editing and then jumping straight into the disc production stage. And the only program which will recognise your project file is DVD Factory 2010.

To be able to use MF 7 SE, you have to first, in X3, go to Share > Create Video File once you have finished your editing. If you are, say, intending to burn a DVD, then you would select Share > Create Video File > DVD. This will produce a DVD-compatible mpeg-2 of your project. Then when you open MF 7 SE, you insert that new video into the new project which MF 7 starts. And then you build your menu and burn.

If you are wanting to create a DVD Folders, then on the final page of MF 7, over at the right hand side about one third the way down the screen, you will see two downward pointing arrows. Click on those and now you will also have the choice of burning a DVD Folder, or an ISO file, as well as a disc. If you only want to burn a DVD Folder, then de-select the 'burn disc' option.

EASY FIX!

The issue is not with VideoStudio but with the version of QuickTime.

If you launch the QuickTime Player and then go to Help and then About you will see that you have the latest version of QuickTime installed 7.6.6. In the latest version of QuickTime Apple changed something in their program called "Apple Application Support", this is where the CoreAudioToolBox.dll is located (I thought it was a Corel dll when I first had this issue because the dll started with Core, but I was wrong). QuickTime needs to have Apple Application Support installed and VideoStudio needs QuickTime for it to use MOV, MPEG4 and other QuickTime related files.

What you need to do is remove three programs from "Programs and Features"

Apple Application Support
Apple Software Update
QuickTime 7.6.6

Once you have them removed you will then need to download and install QuickTime 7.6 (here is the link: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL762)

Once you have that installed you should now be able to render or burn your project.

Hi nimo

This is the workflow I use:-

1. Capture video/import clips to timeline
2. Complete editing
3. Share -- Create Video File using DVD option Creates a Mpeg 2 file, saved to your hard drive.
4. Close X3
5. Open Movie Factory 7
6. Select type as DVD – Next
7. Add Video File (top icons second from left) Add the video file created in 3 above.
8. Create the menu.
9. As your Mpeg video is compatible, there will be NO further rendering of the video file. (Identified by ‘Create Title’)
10. When you press burn you will see ‘this process will take some time to render’ OK/Yes
11. The progress bar should first show Create Menu not Create Title.

Your dvd should burn ok

I don't even have this notorious Quicktime version 7.6.6, but only the 7.1.3--still
I am also experiencing the .dll crash problem when rendering ACVHD in
VS Pro X3.
