I am in day 3 using trial VS X3 (VS video user over 5 yrs). After completing a 30 second trial video, I went to "create disk" & this is where things went downhill. It took DVD Factory 2010 45-60 seconds to load, very few menu's available compared to VS X2 & not very user friendly. I haven't yet got to the burning stage but I'm sure they'll be more surprises their.
From reading about the authoring module on this forum, I know it wasn't "me" with only this problem. My questions would be, why doesn't the trial version have MF7SE? Why didn't Corel leave well enought alone & stick with the authoring module that worked with previous VS versions? And finally, do the 3 updates on Corel web site really addresses these major issues?
Thank you for your time,
Rich

You should know by now that we obviously can't answer those questions. Who knows what they are thinking sometimes.
And finally, do the 3 updates on Corel web site really addresses these major issues?
If you are speaking about the issues with the burning module then, no, the updates do not address them. That is "addressed" by MF7SE. But I warn you, MF7SE has it's own problems that you can surely find on this forum. My suggestion would be to keep your trusty prior version of VS on your computer and use them for authoring after your finished editing with X3 (which, btw, is a nice editor).

Re: X3 TrialVersion
Thanks for the response.
If I understand it correctly, after rendering my project in X3, I would then close X3, open X2 to create/burn to disk. This seems mundane, but a good solution.
The other question is wouldn't installing X3 over-write my X2 files, thereby, no longer having the X2 authoring module?

Re: X3 TrialVersion
No -- completely different programs. Quite a few of us have both -- and more versions -- installed with no apparent conflicts.

Yes, that is correct. In X3, at the Share step create a video file. Then open X2 and insert that video file into the burning module.

As Ken stated, no. You won't have any problems.
