I have just installed my VideoStudio X2 on my new Windows 7 64 bit pc and it appears to be functioning okay, although I've not applied all functions yet.
I purchased a DAZZLE DVD Recorder device, however it is only for up to Vista 32bit. I went to Pinnacle for the DAZZLE drivers for Windows 7 which are now installed.
The problem I'm having is, each time I try to apply CAPTURE I receive a dialogue box informing me "Unable to switch to Capture Mode. Check if your video capture driver is working properly".
Is VideoStudio X2 compatible with Windows 7? Do I need to update the driver for VideoStudio X3 in order for the capture to work? If so, where do I get the driver?
Thank you.

I am afraid it has nothing to do with Video Studio as such, but with your Dazzle device. You see, Pinnacle makes their capture devices such that they will ONLY work with their own software. They will not share the proprietary secrets involved with other software companies like Corel.
So in fact you have to capture with the Pinnacle software which came with the Dazzle. But then you can open the captured files in VS for editing.
For the record, there is a patch available on the Corel site which makes X2 fully compatible with Windows 7 (but as noted above, it will not affect X2's inability to capture from the Dazzle...

Re: Info required please
Thank you Ken for your reply.
I was beginning to think that was the case after trying further and it still did not work.
What can I use to capture analogue video so I can edit in VidStudioX2. I remember quite some time ago, I think it was with VidStudio 10 that a capture device had to be purchased to edit video. Ulead gave information about it, but of course that would not work now with Windows 7 64 bit. I'm still breaking my teeth on win7 so not sure what I can actually do. I do know I can copy tv program and edit that, but that's not what I want to do. I'm trying to copy old video footage, edit and burn to a dvd. Can you help please?
I don't have X3 yet, I'm still with X2.
