resizing image in X2 vs. X

Post by robertajs1 »

HI,
First I'd like to ask why I had to give what size my hard drive is and other specs to be able to ask a question here? I can't figure out what any of that has to do with asking about program functionality? Just curious.

In PSP X when I wanted to resize an image I was given several options. In PSP X2 I am given only by pixel and percentage! What happened to all the other options that were available in a drop down such as weighted average, bicubic, smart size etc...I have none of that. When I looked it up in the help menu it says to mark teh advanced options but I don't see anything to mark in the resize window. Please help!

Thanks for explaining.

Can you see a check box that says " Advanced settings" near the bottom. Check that and all will be revealed. You will find that in many other dialogues too so check it in each if you want full control.

I dont see what HDD capacity add

First.. Welcome to the forums,
First I'd like to ask why I had to give what size my hard drive is and other specs to be able to ask a question here? I can't figure out what any of that has to do with asking about program functionality? Just curious.
This has a dual purpose, the information we request is useful when trying to troubleshoot numerous issues, especially in the video editing, dvd authoring forums, and sometimes computer configurations is a contributor to problems with photo editing applications like PSPP. Recently there have several posts concerning PSPP not releasing memory. If you'll notice below your name/avatar this information is displayed, that way members need only to glance at that, and it's always there, no need to have repost that info again and again, for those that are "frequent flyers" of the forums.

Secondly, with the old phpBB web board program we were bombarded by hundreds of spam daily. The admin staff to prevent any of this from getting through and posted, was forced to set the confirmation to manual, and would have to vet each one. With this new board, and the ability to have this information completed before approval, removed for the most part, the "automation" that most spammers use nowadays. This along with the first few posts have to be approved by a moderator or administrator, has made it nearly impossible for any of the junk, and filth spewed from the spammers.

Now filling out a few blanks to get some help with your problems, can not be nearly as bad, as having to wait on hold on a phone, while paying Corel, is it?... ;)

Hi Ron P,
Thanks for explaining. I'm sure I could have done without asking that but sometimes I just like to understand stuff that I probably don't really have to, or need to understand. Weird thing was I had just uninstalled Belarc a few days ago because I was doing some computer housekeeping and had all these great ideas on how to re-set up my hard drive etc etc etc...I ran out of steam and so when I started registering and saw the specs request I thought "what luck". You guys here have always been so helpful - THANKSSSSSSS

I do not have a check box in that window so I'm thinking with the hard drive clean up going on, I may just reinstall. My Acrobat Pro isn't working quite right lately either. I'll try that and if that doesn't change things, I'll be back!

Thanks again,
Roberta
P.S. back about 100 years ago I used to be a super pro at WordPerfect (been using it since version 4.1) and I used to post answers on a board that I can no longer remember the name of!! LOL

Hi,
Nope! I don't have that checkbox. I think I'll reinstall because a lot of my menu options are grayed out! PSP x is still fine but the X2 isn't right. I'll let you know after the reinstall.
Thanks,
R

Hold down the shift key as you click the PSP icon to start That will bring up a Reset to default box and should save a reinstall. should you need to reinstall download the Msi tool from corel to clean out any old register setting befor the install

re giving your specs. It most likely is to do with how others can help you when answering posts.Sometimes there are issues that affect problems depending on ,
for instance if you are using Vista or not.The size of memory and hard drive are other things that could affect the ability of your PC to deal with your editing .
With the info there learned members can see at a glance if your specs can impact on the problem without having to ask you what the specs are.......Ken
