Failed to initilise the video capture plug in...

Post by SirAlan »

Hi everyone,

have just started to use my videostudio 11 after some time and since upgrding to windows 7 and I am having trouble capturing, same problem occurs with free trial of latest version.

The error that appears when trying to capture is as follows;

Failed to initialise the video capture plug in. Another program may be useing it or the file has been removed.
Open driver failed.
Cannot create the video capture filter.

I am using a belkin usb capture cable and trying to capture from a vhs player. I think this problem occured when I first purchased the software a few years ago, just cannot remember what the solution was

Thank you!!

If you do a search on the topic, or you can probably even find some on the first page of this forum, you will find that Corel, in its infinite wisdom, changed the capture plug-in after it took over from Ulead/Intervideo. This problem first appeared with v11 and it still exists today with v13. I guess Corel just refuses to fix certain things. :evil:

Do you have an earlier version of VS that you could capture with? Does the Belkin hardware come with its own software that you can capture with?
