Am using MF 7 and have installed both patches. I have been trying for 2 weeks to create a DVD of ACHD videos shot at my daughter's wedding.
I've used the import feature to import a small ACHD clip into the file with the template setting of 4:3 Standard. Recording format:DVD-Video. DVD 4.7G. Using a AMD 64 X 2 dual core 2.20 GHz, 3.18 GB of Ram, and available disk space on a 224GB hard drive is 75.6GB.
I hit next, next, burn. It completes the process then says "Cannot Create File". I have imported other ACHD clips from the wedding but still when I go to burn I receive "Cannot create file". Interestingly enough, if I leave the format as ACHD it works and I can burn, but since I'm making copies of a wedding video for other family members I need a simple/standard format that can play on any DVD player. I have created slideshows of pictures from a different camera and when I go to burn again I receive "Cannot Create File".
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Cannot Create File
Re: Cannot Create File
Try converting your files to DVD-Compatible MPEG-2 with SUPER (FREE!!!) before opening the files in Movie Factory. (To make sure you've got the correct MPEG-2 settings, you can copy the project settings from Movie Factory.)

Re: Cannot Create File
But when you do this, what have your selected as your output in MF7 -- a Blu-Ray type AVCHD "hybrid" disc which can only be played on a rated Blu-Ray player; or on the first page of MF, have you selected DVD as the output? If it *is* the latter, then you have in fact successfully produced a standard definition DVD which should normally play on any DVD player....Interestingly enough, if I leave the format as ACHD
Incidentally, the format name of your video is AVCHD, not ACHD as you have used. This could cause confusion for some people if you continue to use it.
