Continuing Chapter Sequence on Second and SUbsequent Disks

Post by pturko »

Hi there.

I have a project that I intend to split onto two disks to preserve video quality. I'm wondering if there is a way in DVD Workshop 2 to continue the numbering pattern of chapter stops on Disk 2 from the last stop on Disk 1 (i.e. if Disk One ends at Chapter 20, can I have Disk 2 start at Chapter 21 and so forth on the DVD)? This, instead of numbering chapter stops on Disk 2 from Chapter 1 again.

Thank you.

Assuming you are doing chapters and not titles, you could put in some 'excess' video before the beginning of the second section. About 1 second of black video per chapter should work fine. Then, set your 'bogus' chapter points at each second then never link them in the menu. A similar technique could be used with individual clips.

8) Interesting suggestion pauley,

I've done that on an audio CD. It turns-out that the CD spec requires a minimum track-length of 4 seconds. I don't know if the DVD spec has a minimum chapter-length.
