Organizer within the Full Editor
The Media Tray and Organizer Workspace have been my least favorite changes in PSP X3 but I've learned to live with it. Yesterday as I was working on a photo, I hit a combination of keys by accident or chose a menu item and was able to access the Organizer within the Full Editor. It showed up as the same Tree from the Organizer but inbetween the Learning Center toolbar and the Tools toolbar. Everything was accessible and working. The Media Tray changed with each subdirectory I went to. Unfortunately, I don't know what I hit to activate it and didn't save it as part of my custom worskspace. I left the computer up and running all night but of course, there was an update which caused it to restart, thus losing the Workspace with Organizer in the Full Editor. Does anyone know how to recover that little feature? Has anyone else been able to replicate it? I'm using an HP with i7 Core 2.80 GHz. (64 bit). Thanks.

Re: Organizer within the Full Editor
Billy,
Interesting.
My Organizer is full screen.
I have to click on Full Editor (tab) to go back to the Full Editor.
View, ToolBars, then select "standard".
Organizer will be at far right.
Also, click on the ">>" there.

Re: Organizer within the Full Editor
Marty...I think he knows that the organizer and full editor are usually separated.
I mean he said that he had gotten use to the new Organizer and Media Tray requirements for X3.
He's wondering if anyone else has found this little work-around. If he's right then it's like with the text tool, there is a hidden way of getting the old functionality back.
It seems a bit far fetched but...I wonder if it's true.

Levi,
I was not aware (old functionality) it ever worked differently.
So, now we have confirmed that you do not know and neither do I.

Re: Organizer within the Full Editor
Yes, the tabs for Organizer and Express Lab are in the upper right hand corner of the Full Editor. But what I'm talking about was the old funtionality of the Organizer. I used it that way for over 3 1/2 hours. I was wondering if anyone knew how to activate it or if anyone else has seen this anomoly? It sure would be nice to have that feature back.

Re: Organizer within the Full Editor
I have been trying ever since I read this little question. As far as I can tell it's not a menu option at all, at least not one that I could locate at all. I also looked through the keyboard customization settings and couldn't find any out of place keyboard shortcuts or hidden commands that I could find. So if it is a keyboard shortcut it's just like the textbox for the text tool, unlisted and unknown by any of Corel's support team. But I'll keep looking.

Re: Organizer within the Full Editor
Thanks. I'll keep banging away trying all kinds of combinations to see if I can stumble on it again. If I can replicate it, I'll be sure and save the workspace and post how I did it.

Re: Organizer within the Full Editor
Thanks, hope you can replicate it...that would be a plus. The new "Organizer" is a major bust as far as I'm concerned. Now I keep a folder open and drag my pics into the editor. Kind of silly, but it sort of works.
Adverts for Corel products when you close PSP don't bother me.

Re: Organizer within the Full Editor
I too have tried everything I can think of to get the organizer wt thumbnails back on the bottom of the full editor without sucesss. For me it is a nightmare I have 650 pics from my friends wedding and can only move about 10 raw photos to the editor at a time, then when I go back to the organizer it puts me back at the top of the page, a lot of wasted time.
Why do they have to mess wt something that works great and customers like? I hope they put it back!!! I wish I could get raw pics from my new Canon 50D to load in X2 I really miss how fast it was.

Re: Organizer within the Full Editor
I haven't quite given up hope. I know I wasn't dreaming. But I still haven't been able to replicate the organizer being open in the full editor, yet. It happened once, surely it will happen again.

Re: Organizer within the Full Editor
It would be nice if Corel would just include a list of all valid legacy functions for those who prefer to use them.

Re: Organizer within the Full Editor
The only work around that I can come up with is to use the Media Tray.
Activate Media Tray:
View | Palettes | Media Tray (Shift F9)
When in the Organizer you can add photo's to the Media Tray by right clicking and selecting add to media tray, once you have selected the files that you wish to add to the media tray go back to the full editor and you should see them there. You can also select all the pictures in a folder by selecting the first picture and then holding down shift and selecting the last picture, once all the photo's are selected you can then right click on one of the photos and then select add to media tray. Make sure you un-select all the photo's before switching back to the full editor because that will open them all can cause PSPPX3 to crash.

Re: Organizer within the Full Editor
Marty, I agree. Though sadly I don't think this would be in the list if they did.
Rob717, that's not a work-around. That's how it works.
It's the same thing as adding to the photo-tray when the organizer was in the editor. The only difference here is the name, and where the organizer is. XD

Re: Organizer within the Full Editor
Wow, back in July. But I don't want to create a new topic for something that's already been discussed.
Has anyone figured out this one yet? Because I think I have. Much like revbilly I found it quite by accident.
With the Media Tray open right-click on one of the images and select View Photo Info.

This isn't the same as View image Info. It actually opens up the organizer while leaving the Full editor active. You can then close the Media Tray and resize as necessary to get it looking good on your system.
