Hi
I note from a previous post that Corel were working on a fix for this one and was wondering if this has been done.
I am trying to capture video from an analogue Video 8 tape through a Sony Digital 8 camera model TRV520E via firewire to my computer using VS11. The camera plays for about 8 seconds and then a message appears "Capturing Failed The file created is corrupted and unusable, it will be automatically deleted".
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: capturing failed VS11
No. Unfortunately that is one that Corel has consistently failed to correct in VS11, X2 and now X3. All I can suggest is that you capture using either Windows Movie Maker or the small freeware program a number of us use: WinDV (windv.mourek.cz) which only captures DV/AVI but does it well, including in the situation in which you find yourself.

Re: capturing failed VS11
I just bought the latest Video Studio Pro X3 which experienced the same failure message. Even using the Movie Factory 7 SE gave me a similar error message. Basically I was not able to capture video in Mpeg format. I do not want to capture in .AVI format because it is more than 4 times the size of Mpeg. Also it is quite inconvenient using a separate software to do the capturing. I was using the WinDVD Creator with excellent results but unfortunately it doesn't work on Windows 7. That's why I bought the latest Video Studio. Is there anyway to get around this? What exactly is the problem? Is it a driver problem? A video card problem? It seems to work with some video cameras but not with others. Unfortunately the one I'm using is a fixed camera (Sony DCR-TRV19) which gives that "capturing failed" error message. Please help.
