Paintshop photo Pro x3 (free trial version)

Post by lawdawgg »

When I use the Object Extractor to remove an object from a picture, a crazy looking shadow is left in the place around where I traced the subject with the green stuff from the paint brush. This does not happen in the YouTube tutorials and I and I really need to resolve this. I bought the box version but did not open it because I will return it if the program doesn't any better for me than this...

Thanks, Trev...

I don't know how to get my source image or the extracted image under 256 KB so again, I'm stuck. But I've uninstalled and re-installed the program on this Win7 64 bit notebook PC and I also downloaded the trial program onto my 32 bit desktop Vista PC and the results are the same... this just makes no sense and I am running out of time and Corel's chat line has been down every time I tried to contact them. If I sound frustrated, it's because I am...

Oh, by the way, Trev, the exemplar image you sent with the books is BRILLIANT! That is exactly what I am trying to do.

Have you tried using the Precision background eraser. This is an older tool from jasc and is superb.
http://www.trevorbowden.co.uk/PrecBG%20erasser.pdf Thats a very comprehensive guide to get the best by KZ the team leader of the development at Jasc in the days before Coral
Now my example was wrong as that was the Smart carver not the extractor. But if thats what you want Do it that way

Is this the Gray you refer to Left hand image. http://www.trevorbowden.co.uk/Test/Objrem.jpg
The right is better by moving the accuracy slider to high. I think if its hair thats fuzzy on the edge you may need to use a small green brush and remove some of the fuzzy hair too. Turn of the mask to use the accuracy slider.

I have also done a sample using the Background eraser using the Kris Set preset If you have that
