I use AverMedia HDMI capture card. Video Studio Pro X3 recognizes the card in the "Source" window. However, in the "Options"/"Video Properties" settings, the only two choices I have are Composite and S-Video. No HDMI (or HDV) option for the mentioned card. AverMedia said the only driver they have is for their own card. I would think since VSProX3 recognizes the card in the "Source", that the "Input Source" would be automatic.
Do I have any option(s)?

Re: VSProX3 Missing HDMI Input Source
Not if VS is not written to recognise HDMI input as a source...
This brings us back to our usual advice that with capture cards of whatever kind, it is usually best to use the software which came with it for capture, and then simply open the captured files in VS for editing. Being a major video software company, I would think it unlikely that AverMedia would not supply some quite usable software for its device.

Re: VSProX3 Missing HDMI Input Source
Guess am just naïve. I would assume all newer video editing softwares would have HDMI capability . . .
Oh no! AverMedia included a software (driver and application) with the card. It captures straight to MPEG, the captured video looks as crisp as the original. One thing is some two of the captured files would not import into VSProX3, for some reason. All the videos capture settings were the same. This is why I thought I could go straight inti VS. As I mentioned, VS recognized the card, but no “Input Source”. With the card, a two-hour capture gave me about 25GB+ in MPEG. Not bad for size.
My next goal would be, if any video would not import into VSProX3, I would try to convert or resave it with a different program before trying to import it. That might work!
