Video Studio 10 - "not responding" when trying to Burn

Sorry for being 'off air' with so many posts ... so much to do; so little time etc.

I did wonder if there might be a clash of sorts with various burning software. I also have Nero installed, so think I might take that off as a first step.

Then I will try another recapture from scratch and follow your instructions (hopefully) to the letter, Trevor, and see how I get on this time.

The only Nero program which is known to cause a clash is InCD. That used to be installed by default with the rest of the Nero package, but this stopped around version 6 of Nero. Now you have to consciously choose to install it. But as I say, that is the only Nero module which would clash with VS. So if you don't have InCD, I wouldnt bother uninstalling Nero.

When you Share Create Disc the program finally runs through a series of conversions.

Convert Title
Convert Menu
Multiplexing

and on to burning the disc, at what point does the program hang?

There's one other program that might cause problems with VS, that being a default install of DVD MF 7 Pro, not the SE version. By default it launches Quick Drop 3, having an icon in the task bar. You have to manually right-click on the icon, then select Preferences. On the General tab clear the check beside Auto load when windows starts. Once that is done, you need to right-click on the icon again and select Exit.

I'm not sure, but if you're using DVD Factory 2010 to burn, or an older version of VS's burn module, it may cause problems.

My Nero is Version 8 (but have already uninstalled so will leave it that way for now). I don't have DVD MF. Will get back to you when I have had another try at capturing etc.
