Project Creator can't find image files

Post by oldmaven »

I keep my photos on my F:drive. Paint Shop Pro has always been able to find them there. But Project Creator in X3 only lets me access folders and files on my desktop or in My Documents. I cannot expand the "My computer" listing to see drives, so I cannot get to the folders in them.

Mine is ok.
Are you logged on as Administrator?

Maybe do a screenshot of the directory tree you are seeing in Project Creator ... that cannot be expanded by clicking on the little "black (correction, white) arrow" next to e.g. MyComputer etc.

I believe the account I log in with has Administrator privileges--but why should that be necessary?

At the moment, the tree consists only of Desktop and, nested under it, My Computer and My Documents. When I first installed Project Creator, I also saw all the contents of Desktop and, when I clicked it, My Documents (neither of which hold my photos). Now, I cannot get even those contents.

What happens when you double click "My computer?"

Hi to oldmaven and all others who have the same problem:

1. I open the Project Creator
2. I select Card (e.g.)
3. I'm asked to select my pictures
4. On the right side, I only get Desktop and My computer, but I can't open My computer

Please contact your Corel support regarding this issue. Make sure that you have your PIN, which you get after logging in into your account.

We are aware of this problem and it is logged as a very special bug. As you can see, all users who answered don't have that problem.

@ oldmaven: please mention that you get access to your "My Document" folder. Until now, everyone who couldn't expand "My Computer" hasn't seen "My Documents". It's interesting and important to know for the support.
I work for the Corel UK Support. I will not give technical support through this forum and my answer is only related to this thread.
