dv import won't highlight

I am trying to use the dvd import function in the capture step in VS9. The import screen is able to play the dvd and see the titles and chapters but the import button never highlights so that I can go to the next step of actually importing the dvd footage.
I have tried this with locally produced dvd's and commercial dvd's. Same thing each time.
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

DV is not the same as DVD. What is it that you are trying to do, and how are you trying to do that?
