Play back feature not available

Post by NOKNOT »

Not sure what happened. I have made two DVDs with no problem. I have just burned my third one and when I try to play it in DVD player I get the error "eject disk play back feature may not be available on this disk". I have Studio version 10, running Windows XP Media Center. I searched before posting but could not find solution. Thanks.

I have searched the only way I know. I have typed in what the error said and I was told I used to many words just to use ten so I have tried several different key words to no avail. I may be over looking something and I apologize if I am. I guess I will just e-mail support.

Hi NOKNOT
I think you have missed the point of Jeff's post. OK so you have tried the search. But what he was getting at is completing your system profile and giving all the details of the source files etc all as outlined in the blue text in the link mentioned. These details really are important as so many different things can cause problems that it is essential to know your setup etc to help you properly. When you say you have burnt a DVD we need to know your workflow, do you edit then go straight to Share , Create Disc, or do you go the recommended route and Create a Video file after editing is complete and then start a new project for authoring? You see there are so many different ways of doing the same operation and we need to know these details!
P.S. Look at Jeff's details under his Forum name and mine, then look at yours. You will see the detail we need. If you are unsure of your system specs, then download the very useful freebie "Belarc Advisor" from here:
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
That will show you all the details you need and more.

And just as important, if not more so, are the details about your project.

Thanks guys. I'm not the worlds smartest when it comes to computers. I tried to find out all of the information but just didn't know how until I downloaded Belarc. Hope I put the right information in. I added my files to VideoStudio Editor and all I did was trim them. I then went to Create Disk, added chapters then menus. I burnt to a folder then later came back and burnt to disk using Nero Burning Rom. As I said I had done two earlier the same way and they played fine. The last one would play on the PC but not the DVD player. Thanks again.

And just as important, if not more so, are the details about your project.
Properties of your source files, including video, audio, image files (format, file size, where did you get it?):

Project Properties (important):

Output format (file, DVD, VCD, SVCD):

Output Properties (cogwheel in lower left of burn screen):

PAL or NTSC:
