Different problem with the Organizer in PSP XII Ult...

Post by BellaRoseLE »

I use PSP XII for my business files....I can open the Organizer and see all the .bmp and other graphic files, but not the .pspimage files specifically--those are the only ones I have found to be missing. I checked to make sure that the file extension had not gotten inadvertently checked to be "excluded" and it had not, and I went further and reset everything to factory defaults....If I resave a file as a .pspimage, it will then show in the Organizer file, but not my previous files that it has always displayed in the past. Also, I can manually "open" one of my .pspimage files and then just hit "save" and then it will show up in the Organizer. I am willing to do this but it would be so time consuming and I still wouldn't know what is causing the problem.

If anyone can help, I would be grateful. I am not nearly as computer literate as some of you, so please bear with me and if you could please write any suggestions in computer 101 lingo, I would be indebted to you.

Thanks in advance. :D

I was hoping someone somewhere would have an answer. I tried moving my files (about 600 of them) to a new folder) and now, none of them are visible in my Organizer and I tried opening some of the files and "resaving them" and that doesn't solve the problem, and I tried making them into a new file and doing a "save as" and that did not solve the problem, so now I cannot see any of my Graphic Files....not bmp, not jpg, not pspimages.

Anyone?? :?:

First of all, make sure that the folder where your files are stored is selected. Despite rumours to the contrary, PSP doesn't catalogue every folder on your computer. In the folder list on the left expand "Folders" (by clicking the plus sign next to it), then click the "Browse More Folders" item and navigate to the folder holding your images. It might take a few minutes to catalogue all 600 images.
If you now see your folder listed, but you don't see any or all of the thumbnails for the images in it, click on the name of your image folder in the list on the left, then right click where the thumbnails should be and select "Refresh".
If you still don't see everything, it would be best to delete the thumbnail cache and Organizer database, and let PSP create fresh ones. To do this use the instructions at http://corel.custhelp.com/app/answers/d ... _id/762173. Even though this article refers to a different problem, the instructions for deleting the cache are good. It is important to check for a PSPP XI database as well. X2 uses settings it finds in an existing XI database, and a very common cause of X2 problems is corrupted Organizer settings inherited from an old PSPP XI or Snapfire installation.
After you have deleted the old databases, restart PSPP X2. You will probably need to add the location of your image folder again.
