removing shadow from video
removing shadow from video
I hope that you can help. I have about 50 frames of a scene. Each frame is showing a shadow with I do not want to show. Is there a way that I can take this scene and clone out the shadow on each frame. I have PhotoImpact 12 and I know how to clone, but I don't know how to use cloning in video. Can you help.

Re: removing shadow from video
Video is just a series of still images (frames) when, played back fast enough, create a moving image. In your case, 25 frames per second (fps). I have never done what you are attempting, but I would think you would have to save every frame as an image, do your cloning, then put those images back and set them for a duration of 1/25th of a second.

Yes I understand that each frame is a still image. How do I move these frames into PhotoImpact 12 so that I can work on them. Do I have to convert each frame into a jpeg and alter them and then put them back in the video. Is there a way of moving them as a short clip?
Thank you,

Re: removing shadow from video
Do you have VIdeoStudio? With VS you can take your 2sec clip, then rendered it (Share>Create Video file) as a Ulead Image Sequence (UIS) file. This converts the video into individual image files, which you can open in PI to do your cloning. There will be a UIS file along with whatever format (BMP, JPEG, GIF, TIFF) image files. Just make sure you don't change the names of the image files, and save them back to the folder where they came from. Then you can reinsert the UIS file back into VS as a video file..
