to save a clip continued
I resolved one problem (see: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=38227) just to run head-on into another one. Now I can save a video clip, but the saved clip doesn't move -- it's still, like a photograph. The trimmed video replays perfectly fine (it moves) until I save it -- File/Save Trimmed Video. After I save it, there is no movement at all when I play it. The playback speed is exactly the same on both the saved video and the unsaved video.

Right click on the new clip - what are its properties?

properties of saved video:

properties of unsaved video:

the two videos are exactly the same except that one is saved (motionless) and the other is unsaved (has motion).
the same, meaning the same in terms of scene and time span. obviously there are significant differences between them, which happens in the saving.

I didn't have any problems testing a video on the site you linked to.
Using Firefox I right click the MPEG4 link - save as. Selected my desktop.
Opened VSX3 imported the video to the timeline.
Used multi trim to extract about a minutes worth of video from in the middle of the one downloaded.
Went to Share Tab and selected create Video.
Selected "Same as project Settings"
VSX3 quickly rendered the video to MPG2 format and no problems playing it

Re: to save a clip continued
We are talking about two different processes, sjj1805. My problem is that when I use the Multi Trim Video feature, the video segment that I save becomes motionless. It has motion when I replay it in the Multi Trim Video feature, and it has motion when I replay it in the timeline (before saving it). But after I save the video clip as directed: File/Save Trimmed Video, the clip becomes motionless. The instructions:
I've been trying to resolve this problem all day now.
If you would look back on the images of the properties differences I sent earlier http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 78#p200378, you would see that there is a drastic difference in the properties between the saved video and the unsaved video. These differences happen only in the saving. I don't make any other changes. But the saved video clips become motionless like photographs.Saving trimmed clips
Frequently, when you make changes (i.e., after auto-splitting clips using Split by Scene, extracting clips using Multi-trim Video, or manually trimming clips), you may wish to make a permanent change to the clip and save the edited file. Corel VideoStudio Pro gives you a margin of safety since it saves the trimmed video to a new file and does not alter the original file.
To save, select a trimmed clip in the Storyboard View, Timeline View or the Library and select File: Save Trimmed Video.

Re: to save a clip continued
But anyway, I tried it as you suggested, and it seems to work that way without any problem. I just wonder why there is such a problem in saving a video clip as instructed in Help: File/Save Trimmed Video. Did I misunderstand the instructions?
