Help needed - lost video capture

Post by Screwball »

After (stupidly) installing Adobe Premier, then deleted it as it seems to have caused the following problems. When I try to capture in the brill UVS 11 all I get is a 'Either no video capture driver is installed in this system or no device is connected' error message. I have tried everything to remove the problem, to no avail.
In order to transfer old VHS videos to my computer and edit in UVS, firstly I installed an easycap usb gismo. Worked for vid but no sound. It came with a free version of UVS 9, as I already have Ver.11 it wouldnt allow proper installation, just asked if I wanted to remove the programme.I then (once again) installed a Hauppauge TV card that is plug and play. Looking in device manager, all appears to be fine but I still get the previous error message. It doesn't even recognise my digi camcorder which I have been using for 2 years. I have re-installed UVS 11 but still get the error message. Would really love and appreciate some advice or guidance on which road to take next. Seriously frustrated.

Firstly if not already done re-install VS AFTER reading the following post on reinstallation http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?p=55773#55773

If that doesn't work you could always resort to SYSTEM RESTORE (START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>SYSTEM TOOLS>SYSTEM RESTORE) to a backup created before you installed.
