Cannot render files or burn to dvd with V S pro x3

Post by lili07 »

When I attempt to render a project to create a video file, it closes down my computer when reaching approx 25%. If I select 'burn to DVD', an error message appears informing me that the program needs to close. I am not using HD files. My version is 13.6.2.21, indicating that there are no updates needed. I'm desperate, and wonder why I ever bought the stupid thing!!!! I downloaded and paid for the program directly from the Corel website. Had had similar bad experiences with Ulead video studio but thought the new program had solved old problems. Seems it's just created a whole lot of new ones.
My profile includes all info re operating system etc.
Properties of source files from my video camera: File format: MPEG-4 file. File size: 1,335,456 kb Duration: 3149.616 seconds. Video type: MPEG-4 SP Video. Total frames: 94,394. Attributes: 24 bits, 720 x 480. Frame rate: 29.970 frames / sec. Data rate 3500 Kbps. Audio type: MPEG AAC Audio. Total samples: 151,178.240. Attributes: 48000 Hz, 16 bit Stereo. Bit rate: 128 kbps.
This is one file – project includes 10 files and sizes vary. These files have been downloaded from my camera to the computer.
Project settings: DVD –R 16:9 Pal 3.7 gb Dolby Digital Audio Stereo
Project properties: PAL (25 fps) MPEG files 24 bits, 720 x 576, 25 fps Lower Field First
(DVD-PAL), 16:9 Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8000 kbps) LPCM Audio, 48000 Hz, Stereo

I'm surprised your computer didn't explode.

It seems your cam records in NTSC format, but your project is set to PAL standards. Where are you located?

I haven't used a forum before. Was surprised to be subject to sarcasm
