VS Pro X3 Hangs, Freezes

How come with a brand new laptop, more processor speed, more memory does this version (X3) of VS constantly freezes, hangs or errors to the point that I have to reboot my laptop. I also have issues burning DVDs. Very slow and when it comes to multiple copies, I ususally have to do one at a time. During edit I also see some slow down on playback or playback is choppy. X2 on this laptop runs flawless.

Seeing how we know absolutely nothing about your project, the clips involved, how they got there, what effects you may have applied, the type of computer you are using, how much memory you have, what OS you are using, (want me to keep going?) it is impossible to venture even a guess.

If you don not wish to provide more info re your OS/hardware config, Version of VS, what you have done since installing, what updates you have done, type of video/properties you are editing....

Please dont' expect crystal ball answers.......
