Hello! I've been making movies with VS Pro X2 and a Flip Ultra HD camcorder, on a pc running Windows 7. The Flip camera comes with Flipshare software that allows you to make simple movies and email them. (I don't use this.) Everything worked fine until yesterday morning when the Flipshare software did an update. Now Corel VS doesn't recognize the MP4 movie clips on my camera and won't import them--I get "file format mismatch." The same thing happens if I save them to my hard drive first. Flip movie clips that have been saved on my computer previously import into VS X2 fine.
I suspect that a new codec was added to my camera that VS X2 doesn't understand. (Maybe? I'm guessing.) I saw a somewhat similar question on this board, so I went ahead and downloaded Direct X, as well as Corel VideoStudio Pro X2 Service Pack 1. The problem remains.
If anyone could help, I'd greatly appreciate it! I am a complete novice, so if you have any advice, please take pity on me and give me the "Corel For Dummies" version. Thanks very much!

If the old Flip set-up worked, I would simply uninstall the new software and reinstall the original... Or do a System Restore to achieve the same thing...

Thanks, but that's not possible, according to FLIP customer service. The FLIPshare program resides in the camera and can't be removed or downgraded. I was hoping there was a newer update for VS that would recognize the stupid codec or whatever it was that the Flipshare upgrade added.

Considering the Flip only updated itself 2 days ago, how can you expect Corel to have already issued an update for VS?I was hoping there was a newer update for VS that would recognize the stupid codec or whatever it was that the Flipshare upgrade added.

Oh, I didn't mean I was expecting Corel to have just issued an update--I was hoping that previous updates had addressed it. I couldn't get an answer from the FLIP people as to what the FLIPshare upgrade actually changed, so I don't know if it's a unique change, or something more common.
