First, searching I found more than a thousand results, which from scan of first few dozen related only to "click on this" and "Click on that," so trying here.
I've been recording some personal songs on my NIKON and then just using the audio to make videos. However, intermittently in the past, and now for last few days, when I either make a .wav from the video OR split the audio off, as soon as I save the VSP there's a repeated clicking sound, not there before I save. I'm not doing anything differently than in the past when I did not have this problem, and it's not the camera because there's no click when I just play the raw .mov file on another program. And the settings are the same as usual. And videos made a couple weeks ago with same process don't have click.
The only thing that IS different is that just before this started again, I finally decided to click the box to stop seeing the introductory screen with all three choices of how to use the program and go straight to the regular editing screen. So I don't know if that's the cause of this round of audio clicking. If so, how to get back the introductory screens to see if that solves it?
Any thoughts? Thanks.

Re: Click in audio after I save
Hi
I’ve had the occasional click, found it to be part of a video file, usually at the beginning.
Not sure what caused this but removing a few frames seems to cure it.
Place the rendered file into your project on one of the sppare overlay tracks.
Play that clip till you hear a click, stop play, what’s in the timeline at this point?
If it coincides with a video clip, investigate further, try removing a few frames.
Selecting the options from the start screen would not have any effect on your project.

Hi Carol
If you want to get back to the start up screen, go to Preferences and look down under the general Tab and you will see "Show start up screen" Check that box and restart the program
Won't make any difference to your clicks though as Trevor so rightly said!

Re: Click in audio after I save
What are the audio properties of the original clip?
I assume you are using VS to make the WAV files?
What happens with audio files not created with VS, after you save the VSP?
You might want to try creating the audio file with another program, such as Audacity, or even iTunes.

Re: Click in audio after I save
Well, I accidentally saved my draft and I don't know where it ended up, but a shorter reply this time. Thanks for help!. The click did start at end of first photo; not using any video. So I just grabbed the video file into the overlay section, split the audio off and put that in the music section and it works fine.
